Band Night for Sixth-Grade Students March 8 at Washington Middle School

Washington Middle School will host “Band Night” on Thursday, March 8, in the gymnasium from 6-7:30 p.m.

During Band Night, sixth- grade students will have the opportunity to play all of the instruments and get a better idea of which instrument they would like to play and enjoy to learn.

As they play, the middle school and high school band staff will observe the student’s physical characteristics of hands, teeth, face, and lip structure; in addition to how well they sound on the instrument.

If a student is interested in percussion, the same considerations will be made for their coordination, note recognition, and rhythmic pulse tests.

Parents are welcome to ask questions and witness the process taken in helping a student choose the best instrument they will obtain maximum success.
